OFX to QBO Converter
OFX is the open standard many banks and accounting apps export. QuickBooks Desktop, however, wants the .qbo flavour with an Intuit bank ID. Convert OFX 1.x (SGML) or OFX 2.x (XML) files in one step.

Settings (bank ID, account number)
QuickBooks Desktop matches the bank ID against its list of Web Connect banks. Keep 3000 unless QuickBooks says the bank is not supported. The account number only tells QuickBooks which account the file belongs to.

How to convert OFX to QBO
- Drop the .ofx file into the converter.
- Choose QBO as the output and check the preview.
- Download and import into QuickBooks.
Importing the .qbo file into QuickBooks
QuickBooks Desktop: File → Utilities → Import → Web Connect Files, select the .qbo file, then link it to an existing bank account or create a new one. Review the transactions in the Bank Feeds center.
QuickBooks Online: Banking → Bank transactions → Link account (or Upload transactions) → Upload from file, choose the .qbo file and the account it belongs to, then review and categorise the transactions.
Tip: always import into the correct account and check the date range first — QuickBooks uses each transaction’s ID to skip ones it has already seen.

Frequently asked questions
Are my bank files uploaded to your server?
No. The converter runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your file is read and converted on your own computer and never leaves it — you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
Does it support OFX 2.x XML files?
Yes. Both the older SGML OFX 1.x format and XML-based OFX 2.x files are read. The output is OFX 1.02, the version QuickBooks expects.
QuickBooks Desktop says my bank is not supported. What do I do?
QuickBooks Desktop checks the bank ID (INTU.BID) inside a .qbo file against its list of Web Connect banks. Open “Settings” in the converter, enter the bank ID of a bank QuickBooks supports (the default 3000 works for most users) and convert again.
Is the converter really free?
Yes. Converting CSV, Excel, QBO, QFX, OFX and QIF files is free with no sign-up and no transaction limit. A paid Pro plan for PDF bank statements and batch conversion is coming — join the waitlist to get early access.
