Files you convert

The free converters process files locally in your browser. Bank statements, CSV, Excel, QBO, QFX, OFX and QIF files are not uploaded, transmitted or stored by ConvertQBO.

Waitlist and monthly reminders

If you join the Pro waitlist or ask for a monthly reminder, we store the email address you submit, the list you joined, the page you signed up on and, if you provide it, your bank's name. You first get one confirmation email, and nothing else is sent until you click its link (double opt-in). After that we use your address only for that list: one email when Pro launches, or one reminder a month. Every reminder has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time. We do not store your IP address with your sign-up and we never sell or share the list.

Saved settings

To make repeat conversions faster, the converter remembers your column settings per file layout, plus your account type and bank ID, in your browser's local storage. These stay on your device. Use “Reset to auto-detect” or clear your browser data to remove them.

Chrome extension

The ConvertQBO Chrome extension requests no permissions and collects no data. Its offline converter processes files locally, and its links open convertqbo.com with campaign tags (utm_source=chrome_extension) so we can count visits that come from the extension.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which converters are used and where people get stuck. We send only anonymous usage events — for example “a CSV file was converted to QBO, 11–50 rows” — never file contents, file names, payees, amounts or account numbers.

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first; until they accept, Google Analytics runs without cookies (Consent Mode). Advertising features are disabled for everyone. You can change your choice any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.

The site also stores a small counter of how many conversions you made (in your browser’s local storage) so we can tell one-off from returning use. Clear your browser data to remove it.

Hosting logs

Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, browser) for security and is rotated regularly.
